Pictures of new lesson horse. Ice Ice Baby, barn name Skye. He is 7 y.o. Wonderful lesson horse. Does English and Western. Will add some new pictures when I get them. This is 12y.o. Matt riding him.
Lessons are $40.00 for a private lesson per person per horse per hour, and $35.00 per student per horse per hour for a group of 2 or more.

All other students, if you purchase your lessons and schedule them before the 1st of the month, you get a $5.00 discount per lesson.

Discount for 4H members.

You will learn how to be safe, while having fun.

For beginners we start at the ground level and work up. Grooming, tacking, then on the ground, then in the saddle.

For intermediate riders and up, I evaluate your riding skills and start from there.

If you have your own horse I can come to you for your convenience or you can bring your horse to a stable I work out of if you don't have a ring or round pen to safely work in.

Lessons can be given in Boonsboro, MD, and Rocky Ridge, MD (near Thurmont).

Boonsboro is for beginners and intermediates,  and Rocky Ridge is for everyone.

I teach Western and English.

Whether you want to trail ride, or show, or communicate better with your best friend,  this is the place for fun, while learning to be safe.

Helmets and boots are required when taking lessons.

Call or e-mail to schedule a visit at one of the locations. I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

"Our daughter has been taking riding lessons from Betsy for over a year.  Betsy does a great job and Stephanie really enjoys each lesson.  We would recommend Betsy for anyone who is searching for an experienced and dedicated riding instructor." Jeanne Eberly

I can’t say enough about Betsy!!! She doesn’t just teach you how to get
on and off a horse, she teaches you to speak horse and develop a
trusting relationship with your horse. I learned more in my first
lesson with her than I had in all my other lessons combined! The Rocky
Ridge farm is beautiful and the horses are amazing. The lessons are
very relaxed but filled with useful and insightful information. You
get a well rounded education on horses; how to ride, how to care for
them, information on breeds, tack and on and on and on. Unlike most
other places, Betsy is very flexible with her scheduling of lessons and
you certainly can’t beat the price! I absolutely love every minute at
the Farm and look forward to seeing Dan (my horse) and Betsy every week.
